Fiber optic Links
A. A. Lab Systems is manufacturing different types of Digital and Analog Fiber Optic Links. Those links are used for transferring general purpose Analog or Digital signals. The standard Analog signal inputs are +/-10V. However, in some of the links they can be configured with internal differential amplifiers, with gain of 1 - 100 (i.e. input range can go down to 100mV only). The digital inputs are 0 to 5V (TTL level) but in some of the links they may be configured with RS-232 drivers, RS485 or 10A relay outputs.
Our Analog Fiber Optic links are built to work in an industrial noisy environment. They may be operated from mains current (110V or 220V) or from a simple 12V rechargeable battery. All Fiber Optic Links may be used to very long distances (up to 100Km) reducing the cost of wiring to less than the price of copper wires.
Common applications are:
Transfer of signal through noisy environment
High Voltage isolation
Elimination of Ground Loops
Data Acquisition from remote sites (AFL-6400)
Medical applications
Underwater applications
Radiation monitoring
High pressure chambers
4-20mA or 0-20mA current loop interface (optional)

The AFL Fiber optic links may be configured in different physical applications. Product may be combined to make complicated optical networks with many nodes. Several optical signals may be transferred on a single optical fiber in order to reduce optical fiber costs.
Our fiber optic links do not comply with any standard communication protocol. All fiber optic links use proprietary real-time protocol to allow higher bandwidth, jitter free signal reconstruction.
Additional accessories may be added to increase signal bandwidth or allow complex signal transfer. In some cases where Single Mode or Multi-Mode fibers are already installed, Media Converters may be used for converting the optical signal to the appropriate mode and wavelength.
